Heroes of the Storm 2.0

Heroes of the Storm 2.0

Heroes of the Storm 2.0 was released yesterday, introducing a new progression system and method of unlocking cosmetic items without spending real money (you can read more about it on my other post here).

With the release of Heroes 2.0, a new hero and battleground were release: Genji and Hanamura respectively.

Genji is the newest Ranged Assassin in Heroes of the Storm. He’s a Cybernetic Ninja from the Overwatch universe who’s very quick and mobile, with the ability to jump over obstacles and Swift Strike a moderate distance. Check out the Hero Spotlight:

I’ve played a little Genji now, and I find that he is a really fun hero to play, he reminds me a lot of Illidan.  He jumps in and is very mobile and can chase down enemies very effectively but he also needs a team to back him up. If Genji jumps in by himself his health can just melt, but with a team to back him up, he can just keep going with resets. I definitely recommend giving him a try.

Hanamura is the battleground  released with Heroes of the Storm 2.0. It is a two-lane map that is focused on split attack and defense, and requires a team to be able to hold and push different objectives at the same time.

This map requires a lot of coordination to simultaneously push lanes, push payloads and hold enemy payloads. It makes for a rather chaotic and fun Battleground.

New Cinematic

A new cinematic was also released with Heroes of the Storm 2.0, featuring the new battleground, Genji and a new hero.

Besides just being an awesome Cinematic featuring Genji and Diablo, it also introduced the next hero to be released: D. Va.

D. Va is going to be the next hero release in Heroes of the Storm. She is a tank class character from the Overwatch universe. In the Overwatch universe, D. Va is a world Starcraft 2 champion, so she should have some very interesting interactions with Starcraft Heroes.
